Unfortunately due to various reasons including inactivity, these sites are not longer being used as source for GOTY tallies. In previous years we have used both GOTYblog the pioneer of the GOTY tallies/rules (as far as we can tell) and which took on the mantle post 2019, they later added new rules to legitimize the tallies and went as far as to the tallies for previous years, increasing the total for many games. Will we have surprise winners or the usual title match between the 2 top rated games? There’s also some potential late candidates such Obsidian’s Pentiment and The Callisto Protocol. Other potential candidates include the indies darlings such Neon White and Sam Barlow's Immortality, Nintendo’s big threequels such as Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Bayonetta 3 and PS Studios' Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. This year will pit the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Elden Ring against the highly anticipated and also critically acclaimed sequel of 2018’s overall GOTY, God of War Ragnarok. The overall winner ended being the co-op darling It Takes Two by Hazelight taking the lead with just 84 awards total. Last year was a very spread out year with many games having a shot at the title. ![]()
